Viral motorcyclist sentenced, driving privileges suspended in Colorado

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The motorcyclist who filmed himself speeding in excess of 150 mph from Colorado Springs to Denver in 20 minutes was sentenced in El Paso County Court on Tuesday, April 23 after he pleaded guilty earlier this month to Speed Exhibition.

According to the 4th Judicial District Attorney’s Office (DA’s Office), as part of the plea agreement, Rendon Dietzmann’s “driving privileges are suspended in the state of Colorado,” and he was sentenced to 14 days in jail, credited as time served, and he’ll have to pay nearly $2,300 in fines.

On Feb. 7, Dietzmann was arrested in Denton County, Texas after the Colorado State Patrol (CSP) conducted an investigation, with assistance from the Dallas Police Department, which identified Dietzmann as the motorcyclist involved in the viral video.

After his arrest, Dietzmann was extradited to Colorado two weeks later and at the end of March appeared in El Paso County Court, where he pleaded guilty to Speed Exhibition.
