VIDEO: Vehicle catches fire in Carmel Mountain Ranch

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — Firefighters responded to a vehicle fire in the Carmel Mountain Ranch neighborhood Friday morning and FOX 5 captured the moment on camera.

The incident happened around 8:15 a.m. at Ted Williams Parkway and Shoal Creek Road, just east of the 15 freeway.

Other vehicles could be driving past the smoky scene and a fire truck was blocking part of a traffic lane.

The fire appeared to keep flaring up, even after a response from firefighters. Crews kept working to fully extinguish the blaze.

No further details about how the vehicle caught on fire was immediately released. Motorists may experience delays in the area as clean up efforts ensue.
