Video, pictures show St. Augustine homes damaged by possible tornado Thursday

As a line of severe thunderstorms crept slowly across Florida Thursday, a St. Augustine subdivision was hit with a reported tornado.

Radar indicated rotation in the storm near World Golf Village at 11:41 a.m. According to St. Johns Fire Rescue, a possible tornado touched down in the Trailmark subdivision, damaging several homes. News4Jax said one injury was reported.

Photos from the scene show destroyed fences, overturned BBQ grills and decorations and a knocked-over children's house.

One X account posted pictures of a trashed pool enclosure and debris on the road.

A wind advisory remains in effect until 8 p.m. for northeast and northern Florida and southeast Georgia. Expect winds out of the south at 20 to 30 mph, with gusts of 35 to 45 mph.

If confirmed, this is the second tornado to hit the St. Augustine area in a week. An EF-0 tornado touched down in the Beacon Lake neighborhood in northern St. Johns County near U.S. Highway 1, damaging roofs, fences, and patio furniture with winds up to 70 to 80 mph at its peak along a path measuring one-quarter of a mile," the National Weather Service survey said.
