Just in time for Mother's Day, one mother recently received the gift of a lifetime after getting the chance to meet her daughter for the first time in over 50 years.

Donna Pavey never thought she would ever see her daughter Sharon Glidden again, after giving her baby up for adoption, KVUE reports. But now, 52 years later, Donna and Sharon finally got the chance to meet in Burnet, Texas, and their reunion couldn't be more bittersweet, considering Sharon had just learned she was adopted a few days before the reunion.

"I'm finally breathing a little," the 70-year-old mother told KUVE. "I knew I would see her in heaven, but I never dreamed this day would come."

In 1965, Donna, 18 at the time, says her parents forced her to give Sharon up, believing she wasn't ready to be a mother, according to ABC News. Donna went on to marry and have two more daughters, who stood beside her when finally met Sharon this year.

"From the time I conceived her, I wanted her," Donna told ABC News. "I prayed and prayed and as soon as I saw [pictures of] the adopted mother I said, 'Thank you, Lord, for taking care of my baby.'"

Sharon, on the other hand, had no idea she was adopted until she recently started to research her family history (her adoptive parents passed away years ago). It was a DNA test that pointed Sharon to Donna. "My eyes, my mouth," Sharon says to her biological mother in the sweet video above. "I never want to let her go." She's keeping that promise with a plan to build her mom a home in Oklahoma, where Sharon currently lives with her family.

Excuse us while we dry our eyes and give our moms a call!
