Victorville sobriety checkpoint yields three DUI arrests

Deputies arrested three people on suspicion of intoxicated driving during a sobriety checkpoint in Victorville over the weekend, officials said.

The checkpoint was held from 6 p.m. Friday to 2 a.m. Saturday at Bear Valley Road and 5th Street, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department.

More than 1,500 vehicle were screened, officials said in a written statement.

Three drivers were arrested on suspicion of DUI, while another person was arrested due to an outstanding warrant, according to the agency.

Twelve vehicles were impounded during the checkpoint.

The checkpoint was funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
