Victoria Beckham has come a long way from Posh Spice, and even the Queen can't deny that. People reports that the singer-turned-designer has been named on the Queen's Honours List for 2017, and will be receiving an OBE (Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire). She is being recognized for her work in fashion and for her humanitarian work. Beckham not only runs her eponymous fashion line, but also serves as a UNAIDS goodwill ambassador.

According to The Daily Mail, Beckham told her family over the holiday season, and she is apparently "delighted and humbled" to be recognized. The honor comes 13 years after her husband, soccer star David Beckham, received an OBE of his very own. He said in a documentary that meeting the Queen to receive the honor was "one of his proudest moments."

Beckham's recognition quickly sparked backlash on social media, with some people saying the former Spice Girl is undeserving of the honor. But supporters hit back, arguing that her global charity work makes her perfectly deserving. After all, nobody minded much when her husband received the same recognition, did they?
