WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — The Butler County Sheriff’s Office has identified the victims of a house fire that killed three people on April 20.

A news release from the BCSO says on Saturday morning, shortly after 3 a.m., first responders were sent to the 15400 block of SW County Line Road in rural Rose Hill from the report of a “911 open line from a panicked woman with an unknown problem.”

While law enforcement was responding, Butler County Communications received a second call from another woman who said she could not see anything and the house was filled with smoke. EMS and fire units were immediately dispatched.

First responders arrived and found the home fully engulfed in flames as they attempted to locate the residents. One woman, Paula Williams, 80, was removed from the home in extremely critical condition. She was taken to a hospital, where she died.

Two other victims — Phillip Williams, 55, and Melissa Williams, 52 — were found dead inside the home after the fire was extinguished.

All three victims were residents of the home. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
