Victim of Sunday explosion named

May 6—The victim who was killed in a Sunday-morning explosion has been identified as Chris Fineberg by Pulaski County Coroner Clyde Strunk.

Fineberg, 43, was killed when an explosion destroyed an outbuilding at his residence in which fireworks were stored.

He worked as a supervisor at AHF Manufacturing.

The explosion took place around 10 a.m. Sunday at 210 Hidden Crest Drive. Along with the destroyed shed, there was damage to other property in the area, according to the Pulaski County Sheriff's Office.

The cause of the explosion is being investigated by the ATF (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms), with the death investigation being led by PCSO Sergeant Ron Hellard.

Don Franklin, the Pulaski Director of Emergency Management, said Sunday that the debris field from the explosion was around 200 yards.

For that reason, PCSO is asking the public to avoid that area if possible.

They also ask that if those who are in the area find something that looks like debris not to touch it, but rather notify the ATF or another local agency.

Along with PCSO and ATF, the Somerset Police Department, Kentucky State Police, Somerset-Pulaski Special Response Team, Emergency Management, Parkers Mill Fire Department, Somerset Fire Department and Tateville Fire Department responded to the scene.
