Victim of Pizza D’Action shooting remembered 2 years later

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – A night of fun turned deadly two years ago outside the Pizza D’ Action restaurant in Little Rock.

It was a day workers and faithful customers will never forget as they lost one of their own.

Charles Willis, 53, was shot and killed on March 26, 2022.

“He meant so much to all of us and I hope he gets justice,” Pizza D’ Action regular Liana Hart said.

Employees and customers said he was a faithful worker at the restaurant and his presence is greatly missed.

Hart said she loves the restaurant because it’s like a big family, and a big piece of that family was Charles Willis.

She said it was Charles who helped her during one of the lowest points in her life with his kindness.

“He gave me a lot of confidence. I always felt protected and always knew no matter what he had my back,” Hart said. “You walk through the door, and you automatically knew he would be there. He would be like, ‘What’s up Liana?'”

Hart said Charles became one of her best friends. He also left an impact on Hart that was so impactful it led her to get a tattoo in honor of him.

“He just treated us all with love and that’s all he had in his heart,” she added.

The following week, 23-year-old Tyler Jackson was arrested and charged with first-degree murder for the shooting.
