Victim of fatal Concord fire identified

Apr. 26—A 60-year-old Concord man died from smoke inhalation in a house fire Thursday.

In a statement, the state Fire Marshal's Office identified the victim as Alan Thorgerson. An autopsy conducted at the state Medical Examiner's Office on Friday determined that the manner of his death was accidental and the cause was smoke inhalation.

The fire at 10 Lantern Lane was reported around 3 p.m. Thursday after alarms were heard. When Concord firefighters arrived, they saw smoke on the exterior of the home, but no fire was visible, officials said.

Inside, firefighters found Thorgerson, who was taken to Concord Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

The investigation into the cause of the fire is continuing. Officials are asking anyone with information to contact the state Fire Marshal's Office at 603-223-4289, or by email at fmo@dos.nh.gov.
