VBPD make arrest in Mulberry Loop shooting

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — A Norfolk man has been arrested in connection to a shooting Monday morning on Mulberry Loop in Virginia Beach, police said.

Kaevon Hinnant, 25, was arrested and charged with two counts of shooting into an occupied dwelling in connection to the incident.

Virginia Beach Police were sent to the 2600 block of Mulberry Loop at 8:26 a.m. for a report of shots fired.

A family member who asked to remain anonymous told 10 On Your Side that home video captured a man ringing a doorbell and then started shooting at least 10 times at the front of the house. Another man is on video shooting at the back of the house.

“My family has no involvement whatsoever in this situation,” the family member said. “We do not know who these men were. I know for a fact that my family has no involvement in anything that would have caused this.”
