After vandalism, Lebanon Cemetery reopens in time for Memorial Day

YORK, Pa. (WHTM) — All but a small section of a vandalized cemetery in York is open in time for Memorial Day.

Friends of Lebanon Cemetery announced Sunday that the cemetery had reopened to the public.

One section, they said, remains temporarily closed.

“Please use caution when visiting the property,” they wrote.

They are still seeking contact information for families buried in that section. Anyone with information should contact the Friends of Lebanon Cemetery at 717-819-9448 or lebanoncemeterycompany@gmail.com.

The cemetery closed earlier in the week after vandals toppled multiple headstones.
