Van Orden meets with county officials for construction project

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. Today (3/25/24), Congressman Derrick Van Orden met with local and state representatives to celebrate securing funding for a reconstruction project of County Road T. County Road T, which connects Eau Claire and Chippewa County, will be reconstructed from a 2-lane to 4-lane highway.

Van Orden says this $10 million project is vital for the area, not only to make everyday commutes easier, but it will also help the flow of traffic during large events like Country Jam. He says it’s time to expand the infrastructure to keep up with the growing community, “It’s incredibly important because this is a dangerous piece of road here. County T, and possibly connect Chippewa and Eau Claire counties.”

Van Orden says about 30% of the reconstruction project is already designed. There currently is no timeline on when the construction will begin or how long it will take.
