Paul Wesley is reuniting with The Vampire Diaries co-creator Kevin Williamson for a brand new series.

According to Deadline, Wesley will star in Tell Me a Story, which is being adapted by Williamson and is based on a Mexican television series. The show will also feature The Originals star Danielle Campbell, who plays Kayla, as well as Kim Catrall (Sex and the City) as Kayla's grandmother and Billy Magnussen as Nick, a high school teacher.

Tell Me a Story takes old fairytales and reimagines them as dark psychological thrillers. Taking place in New York City, Wesley plays Eddie, a bartender, drug dealer, and thief who also deals with alcoholism and drug abuse. The first season will weave together The Three Little Pigs, Little Red Riding Hood, and Hansel and Gretel.

The show will air on CBS All Access, a subscription-based service created by CBS and will likely not air on television. No release date has been set.

Tell Me a Story will be Wesley's big return to television since the finale of The Vampire Diaries aired in 2017. He starred as Stefan Salvatore for 8 seasons and also appeared in an episode of The Vampire Diaries spin-off The Originals. Wesley also directed an episode of Shadowhunters that same year.
