Multiple reports listed Pitino as a top candidate to be the next head coach of the Louisville Cardinals men’s basketball program. Not only was that no longer the case Wednesday, but a new name emerged with the job. CBS sports.com is reporting that the Cardinals have a verbal agreement with College of Charleston head coach Pat Kelsey and are expected to formally introduce him as head coach later this week.

Kelsey spent three seasons at the College of Charleston, winning 75 with only 27 losses. In his last two seasons with the Cougars, Kelsey led his team to consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances, winning 27 games this season and a school record 31 last year.
