UNLV proposes plan to demolish apartment complex near campus

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – Tenants at an apartment complex in the central Las Vegas valley are currently in the process of moving out after receiving a 90-day notice to vacate following UNLV’s purchase of the building.

On Monday, the university requested a proposal to demolish the Rebel House Apartments which is near Harmon Avenue and Paradise Road. The complex will be torn down by the summer, according to UNLV staff. Rebel House Apartments are not part of the university’s portfolio for student housing, despite being so close to campus.

It is still being determined how the site will be used in line with the campus master plan, and future space and facility needs.

Bidders must attend the pre-bid meeting and site visit on April 2, and submit proposals via the Nevada Government E-Marketplace.

UNLV purchased the property back in September 2022.
