Ukrainian Parliament moves to probe state spending on fortifications and drones
The Ukrainian Parliament established a temporary investigative commission to examine state budget expenditures on fortifications and drone production, according to draft resolution No. 11282 published on May 21.

The commission's tasks include assessing the need for drones, forming a state order for their production and procurement, and analyzing the drone supply to the army.
The commission will also examine the fortifications development along the front line and the targeted use of funds allocated for their construction.
Mykola Zadorozhnyi, an MP from the ruling Servant of the People party, is proposed to be appointed as the commission's chair, with Mykhailo Tsymbaliuk from the Batkivshchyna party as his deputy.

The resolution suggests a commission composition of 15 MPs. Potential members include Andriy Bohdanets, Yelizaveta Bohutska, Mykhailo Bondar, Vitaliy Bort, Anatoliy Burmich, Oleksandr Horenyuk, and Oleksiy Zhmerenetskyi.

Oleksiy Honcharenko, an MP from the European Solidarity party, announced that the vote on the resolution to establish the commission would take place on May 22.
MPs from the European Solidarity party blocked the Parliament's podium on May 21, leading to the session being declared closed. They demanded an immediate vote on a bill to ban the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate in Ukraine, as well as the creation of the investigative commission on fortifications and drone provision for the Ukrainian army.
