Family with two children aged 5 and 12 fled Russian occupied Hola Prystan where occupants made them live in constant fear for their lives because of their pro-Ukrainian position, Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets said on Telegram on April 22.

Occupiers came to their house three times with assault rifles in hands, allegedly to search the house.

Family almost never let children out of yard. But after "elections," they were threatened with depriving children of parental care because they refused to attend Russian school.

Due to lack of money, they did not dare to leave for a long time, Lubinets added. But now they are in Ukraine, where children will be helped to get enrolled in school.

They also said that at least thousand residents of Hola Prystan were killed after explosion of Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant - their bodies were found after water receded. Many are still being searched for.

Lubinets reported that Ukraine returned seven more children with their families from occupied territories in Zaporizhzhia and Kherson oblasts on April 3.

In January, Ukrainian Ombudsman reported during fourth meeting of Davos Peace Formula advisers that Ukraine returned 517 illegally deported children and 2.828 adults from Russia, including only 150 civilians.
