UGI starting months-long project in Dauphin County today

STEELTON, Pa. (WHTM) – Area roads in Dauphin County will be impacted as UGI makes system upgrades.

UGI says they’ll begin a gas main replacement project in Steelton starting on May 28. Construction is scheduled for Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Local Business Beat

The following streets will be impacted during the upgrades:

  • 3rd Street between Brewster Street and Lincoln Street

  • Franklin Street between 2nd Street and 3rd Street

  • Jefferson Street between 2nd Street and 3rd Street

  • Conestoga Street between North Front Street and Bailey Street

  • The intersection of 2nd Street and Conestoga Street

  • Lincoln Street between North Front Street and North Harrisburg Street

  • North Front Street between Conestoga Street and Lincoln Street

Drivers in the area may experience delays, road closures, and detours during construction hours. Parking will also be restricted in the area and interruptions to gas service are also expected.

UGI will also require access to properties to inspect and relight equipment.

Construction is scheduled to be completed by mid-September depending on weather and working conditions.
