UPDATE (3:40 p.m.): According to an Alabama Law Enforcement Agency spokesperson, U.S. 43 near Chestang Landfill Road is now open.

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — U.S. 43 near Chastang Landfill Road is blocked due to a single-vehicle crash involving a commercial vehicle, News 5 has learned.

Mobile mayor to propose tearing down Mobile Civic Center

A news release from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency said they do not know how long the road will be blocked. The crash happened around 7:55 a.m. Wednesday.

Troopers with ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division are on the scene and are expected to provide updates shortly.
