ST. PETERSBURGH, Fla. (WFLA) — Two teens have been indicted on first-degree murder charges for a shooting in St. Petersburg in April.

Court documents show the teens, 17 and 16, are being charged with murder in the first degree for the shooting death of Marcus Rivers, Jr.

The 17-year-old allegedly possessed the weapon and shot and killed Rivers during a robbery attempt on April 20, according to the indictment. The 16-year-old took part in the robbery attempt, documents show.

In April, St. Petersburg police said the pair, along with a third suspect, approached Rivers, 21, while he was in his car on 80th Avenue Northeast.

Rivers was killed during the robbery attempt, and the 17-year-old was left in critical condition after the shootout.
