Two people suffer serious injuries after vehicle crashed into ‘live’ electrical box

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Two people suffered serious injuries after a report of a vehicle crashing into an electrical box in east Austin on Monday, Austin-Travis County EMS said on social media.

Around 8:43 p.m., medics and the Austin Fire Department responded to the 1500 block of Faro Drive. That’s near East Riverside Drive. Medics said the two people were stuck due to a “live transformer box/live wires.”

Medics said both people were “unresponsive,” at one point. Both people were freed from the vehicle. Furthermore, medics said the condition for the first person who was freed was “medical not trauma” related.

Both people were taken to Dell Seton with serious injuries, medics said.

Medics are no longer on the scene, and no other information was available Monday.
