Two people arrested in $1 million drug bust in Lafayette

LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) — Two people have been arrested and over $1 million worth of drugs were seized in a major drug bust in Lafayette on Wednesday, authorities said.

Jada Bentivolio, 23, and Christian Archangel, 23, were arrested and booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center on charges of possession with intent to distribute Schedule II narcotics (Methamphetamine), according to the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office. Archangel was also charged with transactions involving proceeds from drug activity.

The Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit, with the assistance of the LPSO SWAT Team, located 14 pounds of Methamphetamine while executing a search warrant in the 200 block of Verot School Road on Wednesday. A handgun was also found and seized, officials said.

This case remains under investigation. No further information was released.
