Two new Midstate grocery stores opening soon, and more affordable housing

CENTRAL PENNSYLVANIA (WHTM) — This week in the Midstate we have two new grocery stores that are opening soon and a new affordable housing complex in the works.

ALDI

  • A new ALDI grocery store will soon be opening its doors in Red Lion, York County at some point in May 2024. The new 12,000 square foot store is expected to create between 15 and 20 new jobs.

Lidl

  • This new Germany discount grocery store will soon be opening its doors in Dauphin County at the Paxton Towne Center. The new Lidl location will be 32,000 square feet in size and will occupy the former HH Gregg that sits next-door to Target. An official opening date has not yet been released.

Affordable Housing

  • This new affordable housing complex will soon be constructed in Carlisle, Cumberland County following an agreement to purchase the former TYCO plant property, which is three-acres in size. The new community will feature 45 affordable rental units along with eight townhouses.
