Two men injured in crash west of Wellington
SUMNER COUNTY, Kan. (KSNW) — Two men were injured in a crash west of Wellington Wednesday morning.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, at 9:08 a.m., a 34-year-old man from Childress, Texas, was driving a 2001 Peterbilt Semi Tractor hauling a trailer west on U.S. Highway 160.
At the same time, a 51-year-old man from Milan was driving a 2005 Ford F350 hauling a trailer, also headed west on U.S. 160. With him was a 24-year-old man from Wellington.
The KHP says the two vehicles were headed west on U.S. 160 when the Ford F350 started to make a left-hand turn onto South Anson Road.
The Peterbilt Semi Tractor attempted to pass the Ford F350 on the left as it was trying to make its turn.
The Peterbilt Semi Tractor hit the trailer that the Ford F350 was hauling, then hit the bed of the truck.
Wichita police asking for help in locating vehicle from hit and run
As a result of being hit, the Ford F350 rolled and came to a stop in the ditch to the southwest of U.S. 160 and South Anson Road.
The Peterbilt Semi Tractor came to a stop in the eastbound lanes, just west of the intersection.
The driver of the Peterbilt Semi Tractor had no apparent injuries.
The driver of the Ford F350 had suspected minor injuries and was taken to a Wellington hospital. His passenger had suspected serious injuries and was taken to a medical center in Wichita.
