Two men charged in murder-for-hire plot in Luzerne County

PLYMOUTH, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— Two men have been charged in a murder-for-hire plot in Luzerne County.

Plymouth Police Department say Gregory Duclaire, 39, from Wilkes Barre, and Gregory Warren, 38, extradited from the Bronx, New York City have been arraigned on one count of criminal conspiracy and two counts of criminal homicide.

As stated in the criminal complaint, on January 10, Duclaire was picked up on a state parole warrant by the U.S. Marshall’s Task Force. He agreed to share information about a murder-for-hire scheme that was going on as noted in the affidavit.

According to court records, on January 7, Duclaire stated he was initially offered $10,000 but it was lowered to $5,000 by Warren to murder a male who he says shot up his business in Wilkes Barre.

Court records say Warren and Duclaire discussed the murder plot inside a Plymouth residence when Warren left and returned with a 9mm Smith and Weston that was given to a cooperating witness.

The criminal complaint explains the witness then gave the gun back to Duclaire at a gas station near the Plymouth residence after a discussion about there being too many cameras on the victim’s street.

Warren discussed “bringing a guy” in from New York to help and also keeping surveillance on the victim by driving by his house while switching cars to avoid detection, officials note.

Magisterial District Judge Alexandra Kokura Kravitz arraigned DuClaire on the charges Tuesday morning and denied bail. He was being held at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility with a preliminary hearing scheduled for April 23.

It is unknown where Warren is being held, but he has a hearing on May 24 at the Luzerne County Courthouse for the above charges.
