Two individuals arrested in Dixon for attempting to sell meth to deputies

Lee County Deputies were notified of two individuals selling narcotics at the Magnuson Hotel in rural Dixon on Friday, April 5. Around 9 p.m., Blake Keane, a 21-year-old of Sterling and a 15-year-old boy of Morrison attempted to sell methamphetamine to two Lee County Deputies.

Both were taken into custody without incident.

The boy was charged with methamphetamine delivery, a class 2 felony, and possession of less than five grams of methamphetamine, a class 3 felony. He was processed at Lee County Jail and released to his parents.

Keane was charged with methamphetamine delivery, possession of less than five grams of methamphetamine, unlawful possession of 30-100 grams of cannabis, which is a class 3 felony, and unlawful possession of 30-100 grams of cannabis, a class a misdemeanor.

When the April 5 arrest occurred, Keane was already on pretrial release with a GPS monitor out of Whiteside County for pending charges of unlawful possession of firearm ammunition by a felon. In accordance with the Illinois SAFE-T Act, he was given a court date and released from the custody of Lee County Deputies.
