Two hospitalized after vehicle drives off I-25

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) said two people were hospitalized after a vehicle drove off the retaining wall on I-25 and North Nevada Avenue in the evening hours of Wednesday, April 24.

According to CSPD, on Wednesday at around 10 p.m. officers were called to the intersection of North Nevada Avenue and I-25 for a crash. A vehicle that had been traveling north on I-25 had driven through the guard rail and off the retaining wall, crashing near the intersection.

Two people in the vehicle were taken to the hospital with critical injuries. The Major Crash Unit responded to help in the investigation due to the complexity of the crash scene, according to police.

CSPD said the investigation is ongoing and no one has been taken into custody. Two lanes of I-25 northbound were shut down while police investigated and were reopened at 4:40 a.m.
