Two face drug, gun charges after East Baton Rouge Parish deputies seize marijuana, cocaine

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Two people are facing gun and drug charges after an investigation by the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office.

The investigation happened in April. It focused on what EBRSO called “a poly-narcotics distributor.” They identified the accused distributor as K-Shon Ringo, 27.

During the investigation, agents identified a home reportedly used by Ringo to sell drugs on Alliquippa Street. According to EBRSO, agents performed one controlled sale of narcotics from Ringo.

On Wednesday, April 24, agents, with the help of other EBRSO divisions, completed a search warrant. The sheriff’s office said the following items were seized:

  • 4.87 ounces of fentanyl powder (1380 lethal doses).

  • 17.3 grams of crack cocaine.

  • 43.8 grams of marijuana.

  • 57.5 dosage units of amphetamine pills.

  • Two dosage units of clonazepam prescription pills.

  • One dosage unit of hydrocodone prescription pills.

  • Three narcotics presses.

  • Blender with fentanyl residue.

  • One digital scale and plastic bag boxes.

  • Vacuum sealer and bags.

  • $3,901.

  • Three semi-auto 9mm handguns.

  • Semi-auto .45 cal. handgun.

“On Thursday, April 25, members of the EBRSO Gang Intelligence and Enforcement Unit led by the EBRSO Gang Intelligence, conducted a follow-up investigation into Ringo,” said EBRSO in a Facebook post.

Agents said that Ringo’s mother’s house, located on North Harco Drive, was a “narcotics proceeds stash location.” On Thursday, agents completed a “consented search” and seized $69,540.

Ringo and Matthew Achane face the charges of possession with intent to distribute Schedule II drug (crystal methamphetamine), possession with intent to distribute Schedule I drug (marijuana), possession with intent to distribute Schedule II drug (fentanyl), possession with intent to distribute Schedule II drug (amphetamine pills) and possession with intent to distribute Schedule II drug (crack cocaine). Ringo and Achane also face charges of possession of a Schedule II drug (hydrocodone), possession of a Schedule IV drug (clonazepam), two counts of firearm with CDS, operation of a clandestine lab and drug paraphernalia. The sheriff’s office said Ringo also faces another charge of possession with intent to distribute Schedule II drug (crystal methamphetamine).

Ringo and Achane were booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on Thursday, April 25. They remain in jail and a bond has not been set for either of them.
