Twitter can't handle the irony in Trump Jr.'s #MeToo tweet about Bill Clinton
Former President Bill Clinton got the internet talking this week when an interview with Today took a nasty turn.
Given the current climate of movements such as #MeToo and #TimesUp, the conversation led to his infamous affair with Monica Lewinsky. When asked if he had personally apologized to Lewinsky, Clinton stumbled through his answer, revealing he has not spoken with her.
“But you didn’t apologize to her [Lewinsky]?” –@craigmelvin
“I have not talked to her.” –Bill Clinton
“Do you feel that you owe her an apology?” –Melvin
“No. I have never talked to her, but I did say publicly on more than one occasion that I was sorry.” -Clinton pic.twitter.com/dVAb0OycIa

Twitter users quickly lit up with comments about the awkward exchange. Some defended the former president, while others were disappointed with his response.
Donald Trump Jr. also chimed in with a critical examination of Clinton’s response.
Did Bill Clinton just #metoo Monica Lewinsky??? I (almost) have no words… Props for always being ahead of the curve as the first male to publicly somehow claim victim-hood from his actions against women. Balsy! Stupid… but balsy!!! https://t.co/Fvn7Cp3OmP

The businessman, and son to President Trump, was quickly called out for his statement. Many Twitter users found irony in Trump Jr.’s tweet given his father’s many examples of “victim-hood” pertaining to women.
They cited the multiple women who have accused his father of sexual misconduct. They mentioned the senior Trump’s alleged affair with adult film star Stormy Daniels. They recalled many of the now president’s comments about women over the years.
The internet largely agreed: Trump Jr. had no business commenting on the #MeToo movement or Clinton’s remarks.
Um, Junior? Nice try. Your misogynistic dad is the literal impetus for the #metoo movement starting. So get that term out of your mouth, please.

Your dad is the quintessential crisis actor playing the victim. You might want to sit this one out.

You hypocrite you and your father live in glass houses shouldn’t be throwing stones. Your father was screwing a porn star without a condom and you were cheating on your wife so no sin is bigger than the other fake Christian
