Tunnels in Greenbrier County reopened after temporarily closing due to flooding

UPDATE: Friday, May 24, 2024 @ 4:30 p.m. | GREENBRIER COUNTY, WV (WVNS) — According to Greenbrier County Dispatch, all three tunnels were reopened.


GREENBRIER COUNTY, WV (WVNS) — Multiple tunnels in Greenbrier County are temporarily closed due to flooding.

West Virginia Department of Transportation estimates heightened holiday traffic on the West Virginia Turnpike

According to Greenbrier County Dispatch and posts on the Greenbrier County Homeland Security and Emergency Management Facebook page, Caldwell Tunnel, Hart’s Run Tunnel, and Tuckahoe Tunnel are closed, and travelers are advised to avoid parts of Monroe Draft Road due to flooding.

Those who are traveling are advised to use alternate routes to avoid driving through flooded areas.
