Tulsa King season 2 has been given a casting update, with two stars upped to series regulars.

The Sylvester Stallone Paramount+ series sees the screen legend play a mafia capo called Dwight Manfredi who has just been released from prison, and begins to set up a criminal organisation in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Deadline now reports that recurring season one stars Annabella Sciorra and Tatiana Zappardino have been promoted to series regulars for the second season in their respective roles of Joanne Manfredi and Tina Manfredi-Grieger.

On top of that, it has been confirmed that Weeds' Craig Zisk will step in as director and executive producer following the exit of showrunner Terence Winter after one season.

The latter departed over "creative differences" with show creator Taylor Sheridan, though will still return as a writer and continue as an executive producer in the second season.

The second season has not opted to have a traditional showrunner, with the role instead filled by the newly-announced Zisk.

Speaking about the changes last year, Sheridan told The Hollywood Reporter: "When I quit acting, I decided that I am going to tell my stories my way, period.

"If you don’t want me to tell them, fine. Give them back and I’ll find someone who does – or I won’t, and then I’ll read them in some freaking dinner theatre. But I won’t compromise. There is no compromising."

Tulsa King first debuted in November 2022, and became a huge ratings hit for streamer Paramount+. The second season is expected to premiere later this year.
