Trump on Biden’s continued candidacy: ‘I doubt he will even be running’

Former President Trump attacked President Biden for his mental acuity in a radio interview Wednesday, and said he doubts his 2024 presumptive Democratic opponent “will even be running” in November.

In an interview on the “Cats & Cosby Show” on WABC 770 AM with hosts John Catsimatidis and Rita Cosby, Trump repeated a popular line of attack against Biden and suggested, without evidence, that other figures in his administration were making decisions in his place.

When Catsimatidis said he doesn’t understand the reasoning behind Biden’s globalist foreign policy perspective, Trump said, “He doesn’t understand it either.”

“But he’s surrounded by a bunch of Marxists, a bunch of fascists, and they want to keep their jobs, and they want to destroy our country. But he has no clue, he doesn’t, if you look at him, he doesn’t know where he is,” Trump continued. “You know that, I know that, everybody knows that.”

“And I doubt he will even be running frankly, I just can’t even imagine it,” he added.

The Hill has reached out to the Trump campaign for further comment on his statement and to the Biden team for a response.

The jab comes as the Biden campaign has in recent weeks sharpened its attacks on Trump for his mental acuity and physical fitness.

Over the weekend, the Biden campaign posted a video of Trump when he appeared to freeze in the middle of a speech, which Trump flatly denied, calling it a “fake story.”

The Biden team also captured a moment when Trump momentarily stumbled when leaning on a podium, which apparently was not securely fastened.

“A feeble Trump nearly falls down on stage after he leans on his podium too hard and then goes on an angry rant calling his event workers ‘crappy,’” the Biden campaign wrote in a post, attaching a clip of the moment.

Trump responded, saying Sunday, “As far as the podium, I actually stopped it from falling due to good reflexes and strength, two elements which Joe Biden does not possess. Check out the clip! Crooked Joe is a completely incompetent and corrupt person, even when it comes to putting out a fake story like this.”

In an earlier post Sunday evening, Trump wrote on Truth Social, “JOE BIDEN IS NOT TOO OLD TO BE PRESIDENT – NOT EVEN CLOSE – BUT HE IS TOO INCOMPETENT AND CORRUPT!”
