Truck lands in sink hole in East El Paso County

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A pickup truck landed in what appears to be a sink hole in East El Paso County on Tuesday afternoon, March 19.

A resident from the Sunrise neighborhood in the Eastlake area called KTSM to say that he had heard a loud crashing noise and sent us photos of the truck which was stuck along the 12300 block of Joe Gomez Road.

At last check, the truck is still stuck along Joe Gomez Road and crews have arrived to block off portions of the street to get the truck out.

Homeowner Dan Morales told KTSM that the water main broke and crews showed up to turn the water off. When they attempted to cross the break, the truck collapsed into the street, the homeowner added.

Crews were on scene within 10 minutes of the water main break being reported, the homeowner said.

We have reached out to Paseo Este Municipal Utility District, which is the water company that serves that development, to learn more about the incident but we haven’t heard back from them.
