Truck crash in western Grand Forks County results in injuries for driver

Apr. 12—GRAND FORKS — A truck driver was transported to Altru Hospital in Grand Forks after a crash near Petersburg, North Dakota.

According to a release from the North Dakota Highway Patrol, the incident occurred at 11:41 p.m. on Thursday, April 11, on U.S. Highway 2, a mile east of Petersburg.

The man, 47-year-old Chad Ramstad of Grand Forks, was driving a 2016 Peterbilt with a Great Dane trailer. He was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

According to the report, "the truck-tractor semi-trailer combination was westbound on US Highway 2, near the Petersburg overhead. The driver failed to negotiate a curve in the road, the combination entered the median, tipped on its left side, and came to rest in the median. The cargo exited the front of the semi-trailer and entered the cab of the truck-tractor. The driver was transported to Altru Hospital in Grand Forks with serious injuries."

The crash is under investigation.
