Troy man sentenced for shooting into house

TROY, Ala (WDHN) — A Troy man will now serve time in the Alabama prison system after being found guilty of shooting into a home.

Justin Perry Blair was sentenced to 15 years after being found guilty by a Pike County jury of Discharging a Firearm into an Occupied Building on January 11, 2024. However, that sentence was split, and he will only serve two and a half years.

According to District Attorney James Tarbox, the charge stemmed from an incident on October 16, 2022, when Blair and another man shot into a home 400 Block of South Brundidge Street in Troy.

Multiple people were inside the home at the time of the shooting, but no one was injured.

“This outcome should serve as a reminder to those who wish to commit crimes involving guns. Our office will seek to prosecute you, and if you are convicted, we will seek to have the judge send you to prison,” said DA Tarbox.

Along with his two-and-a-half-year sentence, Blair must serve 60 months of probation.
