Triple Play Records to celebrate Record Store Day

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — Triple Play Records will host a Record Store Day celebration on Saturday, featuring music, exclusive records and several local businesses.

Starting at 10 a.m., Triple Play will offer exclusive records only available at your local record store. Customers who come early will receive limited edition Record Store Day merch while supplies last.

The artist for this year’s Record Store Day poster, Rhyan Montgomery, will be signing limited-edition prints of the poster as well as tote bags and t-shirts. Window artist for Triple Play Giselle Genova will also be at the event with limited-edition t-shirts. A portion of the proceeds from the sale will benefit the artists directly.

John Tonic from Tonic Selects Sound-System will be spinning records through the early afternoon. Then, Canadian country and western singer-songwriter Corb Lund will perform in-store at 2:30 p.m. before he plays at Warehouse 25Sixty-five later that day. He will be available for signatures and a meet and greet afterward.

The lead sales associate from The Happy Camper will be set up from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. with coupons for use at their Palisade location.

Local food trucks Pronto Bronto and Underdog Cheese will be at the event; Pronto Bronto will be there from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Underdog Cheese will arrive at 2 p.m. and stay until the evening.

“Short of closing down the street for the day in the future, this year is going to be one of the biggest parties ever for Record Store Day in Grand Junction,” said owner of Triple Play Records Rock Cesario.
