Train vs. pedestrian leaves one critically injured in south Wichita

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – One woman was critically injured after being struck by a train in south Wichita Monday night.

It happened around 8:50 p.m. near South Mead and East Blake Street.

Sedgwick County Dispatch confirmed that the woman received critical injuries.

Police on the scene tell KSN that an elderly woman was sitting on the tracks and efforts to get her to move were unsuccessful. She was taken to the hospital but is expected to live.
