Train hits tractor trailer near manufacturing plant in Waverly

WAVERLY, N.Y. (WETM) – A tractor-trailer was hit by a train this afternoon as it crossed into the Midwestern Pet Foods manufacturing plant in Waverly.

The crash happened around 3 p.m. on Tuesday, April 23, on Broad Street Extension Street where an 18 News reporter at the scene says that a tractor-trailer had been hit by a train when it was crossing to the manufacturing company.

Railroad workers and New York State Police are at the scene of the crash, and crews are working to tow the trailer away at this time.

The train that was involved in the crash stopped at the tracks for a bit afterward but has since left.
