Tragic update, 68-year-old Opelika man killed in truck vs. train collision

OPELIKA, Ala. (WRBL) – An Opelika truck driver has died after the 18-wheeler he was driving collided with a train while crossing the tracks on Wednesday.

Gregory Dean Dudley, 68, of Opelika, was pronounced dead at East Alabama Medical Center from the severe injuries he sustained in the collision in the 600 block of Old Columbus Road. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
