Tornado watch issued across four counties in Central Florida

The National Weather Service issued tornado watch 86 for Lake, Orange, Volusia, and Seminole counties late Wednesday morning.

It’s in effect until 5 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.

The watch covers the entire middle portion of central Florida, stretching north to Jacksonville and the lower portion of Georgia.

Isolated wind gusts could get as high as 70 mph with up to a half inch of hail possible, according to NWS Melbourne.

Almost 6.5 million people are in the watch area, including nearly 1200 schools and 80 hospitals.
