First lady makes Valentine's Day art with pediatric patients

BETHESDA, Md. (AP) -- Melania Trump showed love for her new hometown during a Valentine's Day arts-and-crafts session with pediatric patients Thursday. At a station where children wrote their “favorite things” on construction paper hearts, the first lady went with “My favorite city is Washington.” She signed the heart with her name and stuck it on a board on a wall in the middle of several other hearts. During the visit to The Children's Inn on the campus of the National Institutes of Health outside Washington, she also helped make candy boxes — and assisted a line of children in filling them up with a variety of sugary treats — and snow globes. Amani, a 13-year-old boy from Mombasa, Kenya, showed

WASHINGTON – President Donald Trump said Wednesday he would discuss the "turmoil" in Venezuela with Colombian counterpart Ivan Duque, but he would not talk publicly about the prospect of sending U.S. troops to the region. “We look at all options," Trump told reporters when asked about troops, but “I never talk about that." Trump FEMA chief quits after being probed for use of official vehicles

Brock Long, who investigators determined misused government vehicles during 400-mile commutes to his home in North Carolina, is stepping down as the head of FEMA, the agency chief revealed.  Long headed the Federal Emergency Management Agency through a series of monster storms, including Hurricane Maria, which ravaged Puerto Rico, leading to dozens of deaths – and a disaster response that Democrats are preparing to probe. Long's vehicle use surfaced just as he was preparing to contend with another storm, Hurricane Florence, when it was revealed that a Homeland Security inspector general was probing his trips to Hickory, North Carolina. In September, the IG released a report that found Long's

Melania Trump Wears $2300 Cape & Holds Hands With Donald As They Head To Mar-a-Lago — Pics

Melania Trump dressed in festive pink for the last two days to celebrate Valentine's Day. But she went dark and dramatic in a black cape while heading to Mar-a-Lago, even holding husband Donald's hand. This has to be one of Melania Trump's fiercest looks yet. The fashion-forward first lady really upped the style stakes by donning a $2300 Ferragamo black cape as she and husband Donald left the White House to jet down to their Mar-a-Lago estate in south Florida on Feb. 15. For the chilly Washington D.C. day, the garment kept the 48-year-old nice and toasty as it featured a high turtleneck and went practically down to her ankles. Yet the cape had elbow length sleeves for Melania's ease of movement.
