Top Thrill 2 opening soon — how you can ride it early
SANDUSKY, Ohio (WJW) — Cedar Point is almost ready for parkgoers to experience Top Thrill 2 on opening day, May 4, but you might not have to wait that long.
According to park officials, Cedar Point is holding several events where guests can try out the Top Thrill Dragster’s replacement early.
Cedar Point officials told FOX 8 last week that they were continuing the testing phase, sharing some photos of the new coaster.

Cedar Point Top Thrill 2
According to Cedar Point, Top Thrill 2 has three 20-passenger trains programmed to operate together. The ride is being called the tallest and fastest triple-launch roller coaster in the world.

Prayers From Maria Charity Ride
Sunday, April 28
Noon to 3 p.m.
$120 per ticket
Exclusive and extremely limited
People who donate $120 will have the chance to ride Top Thrill 2 multiple times, as well as Power Tower, Corkscrew, Super Himalaya and Magnum XL-200. Food and drinks will be included. All proceeds go to the Prayers for Maria charity. Tickets will go on sale April 3.
Cedar Point Prestige Passholders
Sunday, April 28
4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Free with reservation and valid 2024 Cedar Point Prestige Pass
Limited
Cedar Point Prestige Passholders will be able to preview Top Thrill 2 once during an assigned time window. They can also ride Power Tower, Corkscrew, Super Himalaya and Magnum XL-200. New Top Thrill 2 merchandise will also be available. Reservations can be made starting April 3.
2023 Coastermania Keychain Holders
Sunday, April 28
4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Free with reservation and Coastermania keychain
Guest who participated in Coastermania 2023 (and have a CP Racing keychain) will be able to preview Top Thrill 2 once during an assigned time window. They can also ride Power Tower, Corkscrew, Super Himalaya and Magnum XL-200. New Top Thrill 2 merchandise will also be available. Reservations can be made starting April 3.
2024 Cedar Point Gold and Summer Passholders
Tuesday, April 30; Wednesday, May 1; Thursday, May 2
4 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Free with registration and a valid 2024 Cedar Point Gold or Summer Pass
Limited
For three days, 2024 Gold and Summer Passholders, as well as 2024 Platinum and Ticket of a Lifetime Passholders, will be able to preview Top Thrill 2 once during an assigned time window. They can also ride Power Tower, Corkscrew, Super Himalaya and Magnum XL-200. New Top Thrill 2 merchandise will also be available. Passholders can only choose one day to participate. Reservations can be made starting April 3.
