The top 5 speeding corridors in the St. Louis area

ST. LOUIS — The Urban League of Metro St. Louis and the Regional Business Council are kicking off the “Slow Down Saint Louis” campaign to tackle the issue of speeding, which has contributed significantly to traffic deaths in the area.

From 2017 to 2021, over 40% of traffic fatalities in Missouri were linked to speeding. Speeding drivers were to blame for 107 deaths in the St. Louis area in 2021 alone. The campaign will focus on neighborhoods and roads known for speeding incidents.

The launch event will feature police, the Urban League, and victims of reckless driving. It is set for 10 a.m. at O’Fallon Park on the West Florissant Avenue side.
