Marvel star Tom Holland has offered a cautious update about the prospect of a fourth Spider-Man movie.

Speaking to Deadline about donning Peter Parker's iconic suit at the Sands International Film Festival in St Andrews, the actor said he is "always" happy to do more Spider-Man movies.

"The simple answer is that I'll always want to do Spider-Man films," he began.

"I owe my life and career to Spider-Man. So the simple answer is yes. I'll always want to do more."

However, Holland went on to add that it's more "complicated" than simply wanting to make another Spider-Man film as they have "a legacy to protect".

"We have the best in the business working toward whatever the story might be. But until we've cracked it, we have a legacy to protect," he continued, explaining they want to "do the right thing" when continuing the story past 2021's multiverse epic No Way Home.

The actor also revealed that it was the first time he was involved in the creative process as well, adding: "This is the first time in this process that I've been part of the creative so early.

"It's just a process where I'm watching and learning. It's just a really fun stage for me. Like I said, everyone wants it to happen. But we want to make sure we're not overdoing the same things."

Following the commercial and box office success of No Way Home, it was confirmed that a fourth Spider-Man movie was in the "very, very early stages" of development in 2023.

The film was later impacted by the Hollywood strikes before Holland later gave a hopeful update, saying he would "love" to return as Spider-Man if presented with the right script.

Spider-Man: No Way Home is available to buy now on Prime Video, iTunes, Microsoft Store and other digital retailers.
