Tom Hardy Reveals Venom Plot Details

From Esquire UK

As the Marvel movie machine rolls on, even the biggest stars are being drawn into the hype. Most recently, Tom Hardy signed on to play Spiderman villain/anti-hero Venom in a film dedicated to the character.

We already know that Hardy has been on an intense workout programme, but now, thanks to his appearances at this week's Comic Con Experience 2017 in Sao Paulo, we know a little bit more about what the film will entail.

According to Hardy, the film will bring some dark humour to the Marvel universe and will be based on the Venom: Lethal Protector comic miniseries.

Published in 1993, the series sees Venom relocate to San Francisco after agreeing a truce with Spiderman. There, in the comic at least, Venom must face five similar symbiote spawn named Scream, Phage, Riot, Lasher, and Agony. Which looks to be where Riz Ahmed's Carnage comes in as the main villain.

Whether Ahmed will be causing trouble alone or as part of a group remains to be seen when Venom is released on October 5, 2018.
