The Tokyo Teaser at the Olympics Closing Ceremony Will Make You Super Excited for 2020
It's hard to believe the Olympics are already over - but thanks to a teaser performance during the closing ceremonies Sunday, the world can already start getting super excited for Tokyo 2020.
With a little help from Super Mario (yes, the video game character!), Japan's Prime Minister Shinzo Abe is able to get from Japan to Brazil in a matter of seconds, all the while showing off a range of the country's most famous athletes and their animated friends. After his arrival in Maracanã Stadium, the Olympic flag was then formally passed from Rio to Tokyo.
"These Olympic Games are leaving a unique legacy for generations to come," International Olympic Committee (IOC) president Thomas Bach said, according to CNN."I declare Games of 2016 closed. I call upon the youth of the world to assemble in Tokyo, Japan for the 32nd Olympiad - bye, bye Rio!"
...And hello, Tokyo!
With a little help from Mario, Tokyo is ready to host the 2020 Olympics.
