Tire recycling event to take place in Cumberland County

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM)– If you’re in Cumberland County and have some unwanted tires now is the time to get rid of them.

On Thursday and Friday, Keep Cumberland County Beautiful is hosting a tire collection event on Claremont Road in Carlisle.

Appointments are first come first serve with a 50-tire limit.

Below is a list of what items are accepted and which ones aren’t:

Accepted

Lawn and garden tires
Car and truck tires
Agricultural, tractor-trailer, and racing tires
Tires on rims and tubes

Not accepted

Shredded tires and tire pieces
Tires filled with mud and debris
