Tips for spring cleaning in 2024

NEW YORK (PIX11) — Spring is here, which means people all over the country will start spring cleaning to get rid of the junk they collected during the winter months.

National Cleaning Week starts on Sunday, and according to the American Cleaning Institute, 80% of households in the country do some type of spring cleaning once a year, while 6% say they never spring clean.

Many people can find a complete cleaning of their home overwhelming and daunting, but experts from NYC Steam Cleaning have tips to help you organize for the new season.

NYC Steam Cleaning said you should create a cleaning checklist for each room of your house. This ensures that the proper attention is being paid to each room.

For the bathroom, along with clothes, trash and regular items, NYC Steam Cleaning suggests dusting anything hanging on the wall, such as art. The company also recommends cleaning shower doors or changing out shower curtains.

In your living areas, you shouldn’t forget the top corners of the rooms where spiders and dust could collect. Washing your upholstery should also be done during spring cleaning, according to NYC Steam Cleaning.
