Thursday Morning Forecast for Baton Rouge 4-18-24

Meteorologist Ashley Renee has your 8:15 am forecast. Good morning everyone and happy Thursday. Today’s weather story will pretty much be the same. We’ll have mostly cloudy skies and warm and humid weather. Highs will be in the mid and upper 80s. There’s a slight chance of showers for today. There may be a couple of isolated showers moving through midday and during the afternoon, but besides that, most of our area should stay dry. Warm and humid weather will continue for a couple of more days, but then we’ll have cooler weather to start off next week. Rain chances are slim for Friday too, but rain chances will increase to about 20% for Saturday. Isolated showers are possible on that day, but the main day that we have the most confidence for rain will be Sunday as another cold front moves through our area. Isolated showers could move through on Saturday afternoon, but more rain is expected for the overnight hours and into Sunday morning. The front should start moving through Saturday night and exiting on Sunday. For those going to church early Sunday morning, prepare to have your rain gear. The showers and thunderstorms will continue throughout the day on Sunday, but the rain will likely move out in the evening. There’s a 60% chance of showers and thunderstorms for that day. Highs will be in the mid to upper 80s through Saturday. As cooler air moves in with the front, highs will only be in the low 70s on Sunday and in the mid 70s on Monday. Highs will be in the upper 70s on Tuesday. Monday and Tuesday mornings will also be much cooler as overnight lows drop into the low and mid 50s. We have a couple more days of warm and humid weather, but then we’ll have a nice cooldown early next week along with lower humidity. Thanks for watching. Have a triumphant Thursday!
